VENETIAN PLASTERING
Venetian plaster is made with slaked lime putty. This then has aggregate added in the form of crushed marble. The grain of marble will vary dependant on the type of finish or texture you would like to achieve.
Being purely lime and marble-based, you will find no harmful toxins or harmful chemicals. It releases no harmful molecules into the air. It also absorbs CO2 from the air and stores it, improving air quality. It has natural anti-microbial properties making it resistant to bacteria and mould, and it allows moisture to evaporate, which in turn assists in balancing humidity levels. When sealers are applied, these materials become waterproof.
If you are looking for a sustainable and environmentally friendly finish, then venetian plaster will provide you with an almost limitless palette of effects to choose from.
All our Marmorino is crafted by Stucco Italiano, known for producing the finest quality using time-honoured traditional methods. Click here to find out more.

This Venetian plaster has fine grain size, and therefore is very glossy, rich in trowel movements, and gentle or very bold chiaroscuros that convey a pleasant sense of depth. It is sealed with a natural beeswax or mineral wax, rendering the surface water and stain-resistant.
-
This Venetian plaster has medium-grain size, and therefore medium gloss and trowel movements, with gentle chiaroscuro effects. Having a larger grain creates a more stone like effect to the eyes and the touch, but can also be polished to a medium/high gloss or a satin matt finish. Finished with beeswax, mineral wax or a water-based hydrophobic coating, this finish can be rendered waterproof, making it suitable for wet areas.

This Venetian plaster has a large grain size, and therefore has little gloss and is nearly uniform, with very gentle chiaroscuro effects. Finished with beeswax, mineral wax or a water-based hydrophobic coating, this finish can be rendered waterproof, making it suitable for wet areas.

This is one of the most elegant lime-based decorative finishes rendering a variety of aesthetic possibilities. Its slightly rough, matt finish is velvety to the touch with the typical chiaroscuro appearance of fine suede. This finish can be protected using hydrocalce or a one-component polyurethane that will render the surface water-resistant and suitable for areas where water is present (e.g around sinks, baths and splashbacks). We do not recommend this finish be used in wet rooms or shower enclosures.

This lime-based plaster originates in Morocco, where it’s traditionally used in steam baths. It is appreciated for its durability and satin, authentic appearance. This finish can be protected with hydrocalce and then soap or natural wax. The surface is then rendered waterproof and can be used in all wet areas.

For this finish we use Marmorino to create a travertine stone effect, with textured and smooth areas formed in a linear pattern. The smooth-to textured-ratio is completely customisable. The finish is protected with hydrocalce to render it waterproof.

This material is used to produce realistic concrete effects like shuttered panelling and industrial/rustic finishes, smooth and textured concrete. The material has excellent impact resistance and can be applied to all building backgrounds and can also be used as a furniture finish. Beton Stucco also has excellent UV resistance so will not fade or yellow over time. Overall, an excellent material for residential, office or commercial spaces. An elegant finish on its own or if you want to bring refined and industrial together. Although Beton Stucco lends itself perfectly for concrete effects, it's also available in a wide range of colours, creating a wealth of urban finishes.

Pastellone is an incredibly hard-wearing stucco, suitable for walls and floors. Retaining the look of a Marmorino plaster but extremely tough. It can be rendered waterproof so suitable for wet areas also. Pastellone can be finished smooth or textured, and aggregates can be added to enhance the finish.
microcement
Microcement is a fine-grain coating made from cement and admixtures that is applied in 2-3 very thin layers to a maximum of 3mm to achieve a seamless look in a wide range of areas including showers, countertops and basins. It is extremely durable and highly water-resistant. Its high adhesion means it can be applied in a wide range of areas, on a wide range of substrates ranging from gypsum plaster (new or old), plasterboard (taped and jointed), MDF, ply, cement board, other tile backer boards and tanked surfaces.
It is also suitable for application to walls, ceilings, floors and joinery work. We have carried out a number of projects to joinery-like, full kitchen applications (doors, end panels and countertops), planters, seating areas and sinks/basins.
We have worked with various suppliers and believe we have now settled on the best available due to its water and stain resistance, hardness and level of flexibility. We also think that the colour pallet is extensive offering very natural and organic hues which twinned with the feel and texture of the material, create a very warm and luxurious aesthetic.
